Thank you so much for the new YouTube link.
I was only able to get the sound from the saved version last week. Of course it is much more fun with the video! CarolM |

I do not like how the video is kind of glitched.

Someone added another Johnny's Poker Face on YOuTube which Johnny's movements are not fit with music. This video looks like it's cut in odd places. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGmPLOwVCtQ&feature=related I don't know if this person did it by accident or on purpose, but one person already posted a comment saying that it's because Johnny's problem , which his moves are a few beats off. But this is definitely not the correct video. The right one is the one librarylady posted here earlier http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCGoAuFnt3I Now Youtube seems like under maintenance and no one can fix it at the moment.

This is a link to the site of the official photographer for FOI, he has ten pages of photos online but only the first nine are FOI, not all the photos
downloaded for me and some are ones we've seen before but there are some of Johnny and the others I haven't seen published yet.

Yu-Na has updated her blog with pictures from FOI.
There's not that many photos of Johnny and I don't know how to link individual photos from that blog but there' s one cute pic of Johnny and Adam. You can find it if you first click photo-link and then go to the FOI 2009 folder. The picture is in the page 7. |

Festa on Ice was fabulous! | ||

I got home at 10pm last night after a quick 5 day trip to South Korea and a 14 hour flight from Seoul so I am jet lagged big time. But I had to post to tell
you how absolutely wonderful the show was. The best I've ever seen, better than SOI, COI, Marshalls, Campbells or any other I've seen in the U.S. We
were fortunate to be able to get tickets to all three nights and each night was magical. They included two solo programs for each skater plus opening and
closing group numbers, plus "men only" and a "Ladies only" numbers. The group numbers were really interesting because the skaters got to
clown around, do their own dance moves to the music and interact in a less structured way.
Johnny and Adam did two new programs each: my favorites were PokerFace and I'm Yours (if anyone finds Adam's "I'm Yours" on You Tube, please send me a link). Johnny skated perfectly each night, no falls or popped jumps. He designed the PokerFace costume and picked out the fabric for it. I got to see it up close and it is quite amazing but you can tell that from the videos on YouTube. I got to meet his Korean Hyenas and talked to them several times. They were kind enough to give me a keepsake they had made for the fan meeting with Johnny. The next best program (after Johnny and Adam) was one Stephane Lambiel performed only on Sunday night Stephane's "Otono Porteno" ... IMO, it looks like the beginning of a competitive Free Skate - lots of circular and straight line footwork which is unusal for an exhibition... he just needs a few more jumps including a quad and/or 3A. Might we see him competing next season? Who knows.... We had some amazing experiences including being interviewed for Korean TV (MBC) for a spot about FOI that was aired Sunday night ... to show two crazy Americans who flew all the way to Seoul to attend three ice shows, LOL! But I wouldn't have missed it for the world :-) p.s. here is a link to a promo Johnny did the week before FOI Style Buzz meets Johnny Weir They combed his hair to the side and gave him bangs on the right side only - I told him it looks really good, let's more of his face show without the long bangs covering his eyes. Hope he keeps it that way.

How exciting that you were able to attend all three shows, what did you think of Johnny's other number (the one in the white costume)? So far no videos
have appeared of it and no one seems to be talking about it.

Sue...how wonderful for you! Was it difficult to get tickets for each show?? I'm so glad you enjoyed it and I'm happy to hear it was better than
anything! I knew, with that line up, that it would certainly be better than SOI. Would you say each show was sold out? It sounds like there were tons of Johnny
fans there...post the video of the crazy Americans if you can.

momjudi wrote:Johnny's other number was to a Korean song - in the brochure it is listed as "You made me impressed" in English - I'm sure it lost something in the translation. It was a romantic melody sung by a man, quite lovely but due to the language, it was more difficult to relate to than PokerFace, at least for me. Maybe one of the Korean angels or hyenas can explain what the song was about. It was a beautiful program but not a sexy flashy one so people will naturally talk more about PokerFace. A nice lady on FSU helped me get tickets for the first night and we arranged the rest once we got there. There were a few open seats here and there but when you looked at the stands, you could not tell - it was very crowded. As non-Asians, we definitely stood out and attracted attention, lol. The fans are absolutely wild and cheer or sigh at every move. Adam said in his SOI appearance near his hometown, fans cheered whenever he completed a difficult move, like a jump or spin or spread eagle. But in Korea, all he had to do was look their way or skate past their section and the fans erupted in screams and applause. I think it is because figure skating shows are relatively new to them. Their enthusiasm is infectious so everyone gets caught up in it and the skaters really get charged up - that's why we saw so many smiles, waves and great performances from them. |
