Normally I am a huge pessimist - but since Amodio ran away with the Junior Title, snatched it away under the noses of those US-boys who thought they might be able to sweep the competition - I now believe that anything is possible. ^I am still in a huge happy place because of Amodio... So yes, Johnny will do well tomorrow. And why shouldn't he? He is in 4th, he has nothing to lose. It's not like Worlds this year, when he needed to secure a medal. I could imagine that we get a real emotional and free performance, the kind of performance skaters mostly give if they aren't under a lot of pressure. And being 11 points behind Gold, 6 points behind Silver and having Joubert on the Bronze spot - he really has nothing to lose. And it will be great!

Well, that was me obviously thinking that he would skate the lights out with his SP once again - but not even 75 points with the SP and now the LP? And he just doesn't seem to have the form to pull off 2 Quads and 8 Triples or something like that - and he needs to do that in order to win the whole thing. Plus now he apparently has back problems. It really bugs me that skaters keep excusing themselves before the performances, after them etc. - so that everyone will say: "Well done for fighting through it." Of course not in Johnny's case at NHK where he was obviously ill and never used it as an excuse. But Joubert does it really often "It's my blades, I am just 90%, something is sore..." If you are too ill to skate - then don't. Otherwise, just skate. Every athlete has some problem at every competition.
