Star Angel Posts: 254 (09/13/08 6:18 PM) Newbie Angel More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	I voted for seeing him as World Champion, but really, I am just looking forward to the season starting and seeing some figure skating and some Johnny! I really cannot wait for Skate America to get the season going - I hate the off-season. It's hard to imagine that just a few short years ago I had nearly stopped watching skating altogether, except for the Olympics and the occasional competition or show that I would happen across on TV. But then I stumbled upon 2004 US Nationals during the men's finals, and there was Johnny! There was just something about him - his grace, his style, his personality, maybe even the way he crinkled his nose when he finished his program - but I was hooked. And the more I watched him, the more I got drawn into watching all of the other skaters: men, women, pairs, even ice dancers, and I had never cared about that discipline before. Now there isn't a competition I don't pay attention to, whether Johnny is in it or not, but he is still my favorite. He really made a skating fan of me again when I had all but lost interest in the sport.

I also want to see his new programs. I'm looking forward to seeing a more theatrical side to them. And I want to hear his new music, too, because his music choices are also quite beautiful just as they have in the past.

Oooh. That'd be nice, but I'm afraid it'd almost be a double-edged sword: defending World champions have SO much pressure on them going into the Olympics. What I'd almost rather see is for Johnny to win back the National title, have two rock-solid programs at Worlds, and win the silver medal. That way, he'd have a huge amount of confidence going into the Olympic season without the same pressure of being the defending titleholder. I'm psyched for the season to start because it feels like something is missing when I'm not insanely on edge due to excitement/nerves from competitions and cheering for Johnny. I'm sooooo excited for Johnny's new programs and costumes. I'm sure they'll be works of art as always, and I LOVE his music choices. Lots of cool stuff to look forward to this year. And of course I would love to see Johnny reclaim his US title and go for gold at the worlds.
