Well, even though the Weir's got stuck in Chicago last night, my flights for once were on time, no delays or problems! Although I started my day at 4.40 AM in a panic because I remembered that I had forgotten to water my house plants the night before..... oops! So I was running around doing that with all the lights in the house on, Aspen the cat quite upset because he could tell I was going away anyway, well you get the picture...... Horizon Air was doing its usual thing in Seattle of delaying and cancelling flights, but fortunately my flight to Calgary had no problems. "Oh, you're going to the WC? Are you a judge?" (Ha, don't I wish!) "oh, are you coaching?" (tee hee, not quite......)
I got to my hotel downtown and was pleased to find that my tour people had done their job, and my tickets were waiting for me at the front desk. I took a little while to unwind in my room, ordered room service since the restaurant in the hotel was closed between lunch and dinner times..... placed my room service items out in the hallway.... and locked myself out of my room! OOPS!!! Fortunately, I got a new key card when I was able to identify the last four digits of my credit card (too much online shopping, lol!)
Ended up taking a taxi to the arena (but now I know how to take the C-train back). Anyway, it's cold here! a tiny bit of snow on the ground but lots of wind. No dance teams at practice.... none!!!!!!! Met up with my friends from Boise in the main arena but then went back to the practice rink for the last of the dance groups (with no one there). BTW, if you can locate the schedule online, Johnny is in practice group #4. Lots of the men came to practices tonight. I was very impressed watching Shawn Sawyer live for the first time; not only does he have that incredible flexibility, but his jump landings are gorgeous! Others who appeared in various groups: Li, Zhang, Chipher, Joubert, Preaubert. No Lysacek or Savoie.............met up with Sarah and Nancy and talked some with Patti during JOHNNY'S practice. The new practice costume that you saw on OI at the Olympics is really great in person (note to Vicky - it's really quite sparkly). Hmmm, could make a great keepership.....Johnny looks good, still coughing a little, didn't take notes on any jumps tonight except that he was working on the quad and nailed one really gorgeous 4-3-2 with a Tano in there. I regret to report that I wasn't able to give him the map tonight. I would have had to wait for him outside by the buses, and it was so cold and windy that I didn't think I wanted to do that to our boy! I would expect that I'll be able to make the delivery tomorrow.
Well, my hotel has a hot tub, and I'm on my way there!
Sleep well, Angels - or enjoy your day, depending on where in the world you are!
