Sorry if this has been discussed before... so, I was curious what people thought about this "criticism" that I have heard twice now in some of the files I downloaded... they say Johnny skates all for himself and does not connect to the audience (with eye contact and what do you have).
I guess I see how he doesn't make eye contact or involve the audience like some skaters do, but I'm a little lost as to why this should be a bad thing. First of all, some music just doesn't allow for a connection with the audience anyway (would they want the
to wave its head and say "hi" to the spectators?
), and second, his introvert style, conveying emotions and telling a story / message, is exactly what I think makes his skating so fascinating and what makes it so moving. I don't quite see what some commentators' problem is with that. Does anyone else feel that way?
