Normally I would agree with Brigichan. It's quite common for OGM winners to retire or take off from Worlds for the Olympic year. When you win Olympic gold, you've pretty much done the job.

But I am actually worried about whether the US will keep 3 slots in men's singles. Evan certainly has benefitted from total support of the USFSA over the years. I don't think one last favor is out of line to ask, and I would be more confident if he and Johnny were both there. Even if we don't have 3 to-die-for men next year, keeping 3 slots provides opportunities for up-and-comers to gain international experience and exposure so they are prepared when they mature into "real  contenders."

I don't mean to call either Jeremy or Ryan chopped liver.  But Jeremy has well known problems  freaking out at  big competitions, and Ryan runs hot  and cold. Or maybe I worry too much! I hope so.
