I love Savchenko & Szolkowy, and their coach, Steuer. Together, they have made significant innovations in pairs skating, and they have excellent chemistry. S&S are still improving in some aspects of their skating, but they are head and shoulders above most eligible pairs. I hope they win GP, Euros and Worlds this year, and also contend for Olympic gold in 2010. I like their SP this season, but I don't like as much the Schindler's List music for their LP. Perhaps it will grow on me as the season progresses.

Tot & Marinin were technically brilliant and had beautiful line, and so were very watchable, but I never fully enjoyed them because they didn't relate well to each other or the audience.

I used to enjoy Pang and Tong, but I don't think they have further developed as an exciting pair -- perhaps due to being in the shadow of Shen and Zhao who were spectacular and truly should have won Olympic gold-- sad about their injury-- amazing how they came back and were able to compete at the Olympics.

The Zhangs are brilliant technically, but lack something elusive, and they recently have been inconsistent (he is more interesting to watch, b/c he seems to project more than his partner).

I like the Canadians Dube and Davison (they are lovely together), and I have enjoyed watching many of the American pairs. I hope McLaughlin and Brubaker continue to succeed now as seniors.
