After Johnny won Nats 2004. I was so enthralled by his skating that I went on a search to find out everything I could about him. That's when I found this board. I devoured every post, marvelling in the accounts of people who had seen him skate in person and sometimes had even been able to meet and talk with him. Finally I joined because I just had to share my emotions and impressions with other people who understood what I felt. I can't tell you how much I love reading the reports and comments, watching the videos, and looking at the pictures that are posted here. Some of the pictures of Johnny are so beautiful that they are like treasures! I can't express how grateful I am that the Angels share these here. And to think that Johnny would take the time to post journals and answer our questions--I still can't get over the fact that a world-class athlete would be thoughtful enough and take the time to do this. I check the site numerous times each day, just to see what is new and to hope that Johnny is well.

I often reflect, what is it in us that brings us here? I think there is something special in each of us, that our hearts are touched by the beauty, skill, and artistry of Johnny's skating. We truly are a community--in real life, my family and friends don't understand how deeply I am touched by Johnny's skating and his journey through life, but I know my online family understands perfectly. When I am sitting in my room, glued to the tv as Johnny competes, I know that at the same time, all over the world--in Germany, France, Russia, China, Japan, all over the US--that people that I have never met but feel I know so well are watching and feeling the same deep emotions that I am. What a powerful force that is!

And I have to give some love to our board administrators. What dedication they have--I really admire them and the efforts they make on our behalf with this site.
