He didn't buy the Dior jacket, it was flown in and borrowed, prob. upon the request of the photographer. Designers love to have their stuff shown in fashion mags esp. when there're being worn by celebrities, so I'm sure Dior was more than generous.
Some people view high fashion as an art form and fashion designers as artists. The jacket wasn't just a jacket it was art, as is all high fashion in the eyes of someone like Johnny. Asking why he can't just shop at Target or American Eagle would be like comparing Polleck or Monet to trash.
There might be more to why his father doesn't come to his shows than just money and maybe he didn't want to get into it. I'm sure if his father really wanted to go and didn't have back prob. Johnny would find the $ to get him there.
People should try to undestand that to him clothing isn't just something you wear so you're not naked, it's an art form entirely worthy of it's price.
And I have a pair of the exact same jeans he bought in Torino, and there're beautiful. I scrubbed boats for a week to buy them:) .There's nothing wrong w/ spending your own money on something you put such a high value on. No-one would question it if he bought an expensive painting or sculpture, well, to him fashion is art.
Think of all the people who might find us foolish for spending hundereds of dollars on F.S. show tickets b/c to them it's just some silly show, they don't see it has art like we do.-Brian
