I don't like quads. I wish they weren't necessary to earn points. I think they're an injury waiting to happen and that the injuries shorten a skater's competitive life.

ITA. At Marshall's this year, Peggy Fleming said something about wishing they would concentrate on increasing the artistic difficulty, instead of it being all about the quad. She was commenting on Johnny's spins and variations of arm positions on his jumps, which both difficult and beautiful and really add something to his programs. The quad, especially as many of the men perform them, add nothing much, IMO. Although, the ones Johnny has done in practice are as gorgeous as the rest of his jumps. But I'd just as soon see a beautifully done triple axel.
