I worry about Johnny's health. I worry about all the traveling. He is always saying how tired he is. Does anyone else worry like I do?

There were reports of performers in Johnny's show in Japan that tested positive for influenza A (H1N1) or the new Swine flu virus so they had to be
quarantined.
I think Johnny said that he's got a healthy temperature but it's still worrying because like you said, Johnny does have a low immune system. I'm worried but I think he's okay. Maybe if he ate those chicken fingers he was craving for...
Trust love even if it brings sorrow. Do not close up your heart. Ah no my
friend, your words are dark, I can not understand. The heart is only for giving away with fear and a song, my love. Ah no my friend, your words are dark, I can
not understand them. Pleasure is frail like a dewdrop; while it laughs it dies. But sorrow is strong and abiding. Let sorrowful love wake in your
eyes. --Rabindratha Tagore poem #27

I'm also worried. I'm not sure if I understood Johnny's last tweet correctly, did they cancel today's shows because of the quarantine or not?
And how's Stephane and the other skaters? Hope everybody stays healthy.

Yuki, thanks so much for the report. It's to bad about the fan meeting with the Japanese fans. He already had to cancel one with the Russian fans due to
moving into the new apartment and now this. Hopefully he will be able to catch up with both Japanese and Russian fans at his 2 Grand Prix events.

Maybe he can meet both the Japanese and Russian fans after his Grand Prix appearances.

I worry about Johnny's diet and lack of sleep affecting his health. He sent a Twitter last night from Japan at about midnight Japan time telling everyone he had a normal temperature, and another one at 6:30 a.m. Japan time this morning saying that he is flying home today and then to Toronto tomorrow. He couldn't have gotten a full night's sleep last night, and probably won't again tonight. By the time he takes the 14-hour plane ride back from Japan, he will barely have time to get ready for Toronto before he has to leave again. Pippa

Yuki, is it safe to assume that Johnny was not one of the skaters quarantined since he was allowed to leave the country? Also, does anyone have any
information on Viktor?

All the skaters were asked to not to leave the hotel on Sunday evening for precaution. That is what I think he meant by "quarantine."

The reason I worry is because he seems to be traveling SO much. I understand the trip to Canada ( for choreography). But it always seems like he is tired. This
is how you get run down. He needs to stay home and stay healthy. Can you tell I am a mother

Sk8 I am with you! As a mom I worry all the time about my kids in school, living in dorms, going to concerts and other crowded venues etc. The flu goes
through places like that so easily because many young people don't get enough rest, don't eat mom's healthy food and often think they can avoid
getting sick even if everyone else does. Of course you can't lock them up, but you do get to worry.
It seems to me that the flu season, swine or other, will probably be going strong around the time that our skaters are in Vancouver, so they will be exposed while traveling on airlpanes, in the Olympic Village if they stay there or any place they go where they are around other people. I hope Johnnny builds up his immunities, gets a flu shot, eats properly and rests so he can avoid getting run down and vulnerable to sickness. Now I really sound like a mom, but we moms know what we're talking about.

sk8 and mspatti I am with you too.
But we must understand that he skates in the shows because he needs money for his life and very much money to pay for skating. |

I understand. I hope he gets a Flu shot. I am always baffled that hockey players (I am a hockey fan) always get sick and spread the Flu thought the team. Why
not get the shots and your protected. Oh well that's another subject. I will pray for Johnny GOOD health this season.

I hope that by the time the competitive season comes around, Johnny will be able to avoid a lot of travel (except for his events, naturally). A lot of
travelling is a surefire way to get yourself exhausted and/or sick, and Johnny seems prone to catching every little bug that comes his way. If he doesn't
get the flu shot, he should (although the flu shot doesn't protect against everything that's out there). I have hazy memories of reading, ages ago,
how the Hungarian swim team coach would move his athletes around during the winter and have them train in warm climates to avoid having them get sick!

I guess Johnny has many moms who worry about his health , whether they actually have kids or not, and I'm
one of those who worry about him. It looks to me that for his present health condition and also since he experienced the stomach flu and some health problems last season, he has been careful for his health. So far he hasn't been catching Swine Flu , and also when he was in Colorado Camp , while some other skaters caught a cold, he sounded fine. Also in FOI, while Stephane and some other skaters were wearing light training wears, he was wearing warm training wear. It looks to me he has been careful for his health. In his twitter, I found he said only once "he is tired" ." the date after he flew from Haneda to Kanazawa, all day rehearsal until bed time. For this trip to Japan, Long flight from NY to Japan, then after he flew from Haneda to Kanazawa, all day rehearsal until bed time, not sure his sleeping time was enough but surely still has jet lag. I was wondering his body would be fine or not without getting stiff or other issue. But I think the rest of his trip will be Toronto, and inside of USA, and he won't have long flight until the season starts. I'm more of an alternative fan of cure for disease and illness and not so crazy for drugs and shots
since I had better experience by using alternative cure. (Of course this all depends on the situation, and on what kind of disease or injury. )
Wishing him to keep happy mind, good sleep, healthy eating which matches with activities. |

According to today's twitter, Patti drove to New Jersey so I guess she wanted to check Johnny herself to make sure he was healthy before he headed to
Toronto.

I'm glad to hear that Johnny is with his mom.
I agree that travelling to Japan, Korea, Russia is tough, especially because of the long flight and jet lag. When I was living in the US, my husband had to travel from DC to Japan for a week or two, every month. It continued for about 6 months, and he started having problem like getting tired quickly and like problem sleeping. So I'm glad that Johnny can stay in his side of the world for the next 4 months until he goes to Moscow. I personally think it's not just money that Johnny comes to Japan, he knows that fans are out there waiting for him, and since he is so nice to all the fans where-ever they are, the decision was just so Johnny. And let's not just worry too much but look on the positive side, too. To compensate for his generosity and the risk he has taken, I think he would benefit from a supportive audience when he comes back for the NHK competition. Just like soccer team feels comfortable playing games in their home country, if he has lot of fans in the audience at competition, he may feel more comfortable. Even if he haven't come, I think he would have gained a supportive audience, anyway.... I just hope Johnny stays healthy for the coming season. |

It`s very difficult for me to write in English but I want to ask every Johnny`s fan who will meet him anywhere:
DON`T KISS HIM in oder he`ll stay healthy for the coming season. Because everybody has got some viruses . Let`s do everything we are able to save Johnny from illnesses. I hope you understand my poor English. |
