Michael Jackson has died |

Various news sources are reporting that Michael Jackson has died at the age of 50 from cardiac arrest. Apparently his heart stopped, he went into a coma and
doctors were not able to save him. I remember watching him when he was ten years old on tv, he was such a talented child and young adult.

I was at Water Country USA (one of the Annheiser-Busch/InBev parks) today, and I passed by several people who were talking about it. I wasn't sure whether
to believe it or not, but as I left with my sibling another set of persons mentioned it, along with, sadly, Farrah Fawcett's passing from her cancer. I got
home and I mention it to my dad and he said that it was true. Farrah had lost her battle with breast cancer this morning, and, of course, Michael Jackson died
this afternoon.
I'll admit, Michael was beast back in those disco/pop times, but his behavior of today made me not care too much for him. I love his signature song "Thriller", though. I actually do feel a little bit sad, because he was like John Lennon; he was pretty big. Let's all send out some kind condolences and prayers to his family. |

Very sad news. I almost didn't believe it when I heard it. I was a teenager back when MTV was in its heyday, and I vividly remember watching the world
premiere of the "Thriller" video with my younger brother. Despite his bizarre-seeming personal life, there's no denying he was an icon of
popular music. The saddest thing is we'll never get to see if he could have pulled his career back together. Very tragic news indeed.

It's sad. I wonder what will happen to his kids, since they had no relationship with their mother(s)? Who will raise them now?

Michael's two oldest were both born to Michael's second wife Debbie. When they divorced, she gave him full custody of the kids but according to today's newspaper, never gave up her parental rights. The newspaper said that legally she can ask for and gain custody of the children since she never gave up her parental rights when she signed the custody papers. The newspaper did say though that since she has no relationship with the children, the court can rule against her and award custody to one of Michael's siblings if they can prove they can provide a safe and secure home for the children based on the fact that they have an established relationship with the children. Michael's youngest child was born to a surrogate and I suspect that whoever gains custody of the two oldest will also seek custody of the youngest as welll to keep the children together.
