You beat me to it Pippa! Johnny also updated his programs page. I was wondering when we were going to get a new journal and this one certainly covers everything. I didn't realize how down on himself Johnny was after Nats but I guess it's to be expected, I'm just glad the journal ends on such an optimistic note.

It broke my heart to read how down and depressed Johnny was after Nationals, but I am glad that he feels "the fire" again now. It sounds like he has some really special friends to help him through the hard times, and I'm glad that he is surrounded by such support. He is such a generous and giving soul, so I like to think he has people around him to take care of him. Pippa

That journal entry was a good read. One of the best, and probably the best, I've seen so far. It was long, and both touching and fascinating to read. Thank you for sharing with us, Pippa, and thank you, Johnny, for posting a well-typed journal. |

Wow, Johnny really poured his heart out in that journal entry. I knew he'd be down after Nationals...fortunately he had good friends and family to lift
him back up. |

What a great journal entry. It reads like a little novel.
I think that his articulate writing really cuts to the chase of what Johnny's spititual journey was like after his bitter disappointment at Nationals and it was probably cathartic as well as courageous for him to put it all out there. I certainly did not realize how terribly low he was and I can't think of any other athlete who has better described the process of moving from a deep depression after a failure to a new found fire and determination not just to go on, but to excel and win. He is fortunate to have had great family, friends, fans coaches and choreographers to encourage and love him when he needed it most, but the strength to move forward is his alone and he can be proud of that. He may be pretty but he is also tough!! It seems that lots of people and events happened at just the right time to help him pull through and we Angels can take a bow there along with shout outs to Festa, the Hyenaz, and everyone in Korea, Perez Hilton, NBC, the VMan Fashion Week party, the "Pop Star" crew, and of course Lady Gaga and "Poker Face" to which I will always shake my booty with respect!

I realized how difficult it was for Johnny simply to live after Nationals. I didn`t agree with some of russian fans when they told in February that Johnny
forgot already about this terrible Champ.
His words from journal: "All through my apartment I have the small phrase written everywhere, "Ya Mogu" which means "I can." - extremly touch Russians, because it`s russian frase which is written by latin letters.

In Serbian we would write "Ja mogu" in latin, оr "Ја могу" in cyrilic letters.
I know that he reffered to Russian but since it's the same in my language it touched me as well |

Wonderful, as always. I hope "Pop Star on Ice" makes its way to DVD before too long.

This was an incredibly touching, very open, very mature and very articulate journal entry. He seems to be a great writer. And I hope he will get more offers
doing sports commentary or even for something else in the media sector.
And thanks for pointing out that the phrase was Russian, I somehow didn't realizie it because it was not written in kyrillic. Susanne |

Welcome to the board
By the way his journal entry was very touching and personal. It made me sad and happy and excited in that exact order. Great writing. As far as I'm concerned his journal entries can be 10 pages long and they would still be informative and entertaining. He should write a book about his career and the skating world in general after he retires. |

This his journal was really impressive. That's one of the best he has ever written.
I really think he is very strong and brave. Some people takes a lot of time to recover from depression. I'm very glad he got the opportunity (Vman) which could bring his fire back fast. My impression of him is that he is always focusing on his life very well and seriously since his childhood. That's why he became one of the top athletes in the world, which not many people can achieve. I didn't think his last season was failure, it was just one result on the way to get to his final goal.
Seeing his life he shared with us, 2003, 06 - 2007, 2009 might be tough time , but he always came back stronger in the past, so I had no doubt he will come
back.

A (little) late welcome to the board, kjara!
That was indeed a very good read, this last journal entry. There were some sad parts, of course, but it's really inspiring to read about
Johnny's new fire and everything. Janina.

What a fantastic entry! I too was very sad when he wrote about how dejected he was after Nats, but I definitely think he's come out stronger for the
experience, and that it lit a fire under him for this upcoming season. I think his new attitude and outlook on everything is just fabulous. I also had a
*proud mommy* moment when he was talking about how he's learned from his past mistakes and grown up about talking to the press ( You can see yourself grow
up as a person in the way you speak and I'm thankful that I'm able to see mistakes I've made and learn from them.) He really has matured so much
since 2006, and it makes me so proud to be a fan ^_^
