Jeanne wrote: Well, I'm no American, not even Canadian. But I do feel you kinda cross the line with calling Chan a "brat", no matter if you dislike him or not. He is no less hardworking as Joubert, or even our Johnny, so I feel it's very disrespectful towards him (while my comment on Joubert was a praise, even if a little nitpicky one). Chan is still developing as a skater. He might be the next coming of whoever, because, well, he is still 18 years old, and has much room of improvement ahead of him. Were Johnny or Evan that consistent with their 2x 3Axel programs when they were that old? Was Joubert already throwing that many quads when he was 17-18? Hardly. Nevertheless, Chan's skating skills are extraordinary, and I do like to watch him skating, because it's so different from the others in terms of richness in details. He bombed at WTT? Whatever. He had a hellofa season till that. And you might not remember, but he kinda had an emotionally rough time afther the World Championships because he had a death in his family. And besides, he is not the first Canadian or American figure skater that is overscored in skating history. Both countries are skating powerhouses and their skaters and teams do have an advantage over athletes that represent smaller, less important countries. |

Johnny basically didn't compete when he was 18, so we can't tell if his 2 3A's were consistent this time, but they pretty much were when he was 19
(2003-2004 seasons). And it was normal, no one treated him as the second coming, nor he was overscored. And Joubert was doing quads back in 2002-2003. Again,
no second coming wows. And now we have Chan with unconsistent 3A and other mistakes, and still he is scored as if he was clean. Oh well. Guess I don't like
Chan. And Joubert bashing as well...

Again: who was bashing Joubert?
And Chan is the top skater of his country right now. Johnny, at 18, wasn't. Maybe it's good for him, maybe it's bad, time will surely tell. |

Johnny wasn't competing when he was 18. And at 19 he was USA top skater. National champ and top finisher at Worlds.
Many people bashed Joubert last season about his opening moves in SP. As id he wasn't doing anything else there. |

Please tell me if I'm under a false impression, but I don't remember endless (and out-of-line) discussions about Joubert's style going on on this
very message board. Other forums (FSU, Goldenskate), yes, that sounds very likely, articles, commentators, too. Everyone has a right to complain about
unjustified representations of a skater, but I honestly think you're addressing the wrong people here.
In any case this thread doesn't seem to be the right place for this discussion (or what it has turned into). I would suggest you go ahead and start a thread in Off Topic - Figure Skating, call it "No more bias against Brian Joubert" or whatever you come up with That put aside, I'm curious about Johnny's bum-shaking program!

Somehow this thread has gone really off topic now. If you want to continue to discuss the skating of Chan-Joubert-Lysacek please move it to "Figure
Skating-Off Topic." Otherwise, your posts - anyone's! - I'm not taking sides - will be deleted from this thread.

If craving chicken fingers means what Johnny thinks it means, it will be the biggest scandal to rock figure skating yet!

I am craving chicken wings (specifically, kookaburra wings from Outback) and I AM pregnant..so maybe Johnny is just channeling cravings for pregnant women
around the world! So thoughtful...probably unlike Johnny though..I am acting on my craving! Gotta love curbside pick-up!

When I was pregnant I craved tuna fish, mashed potatoes from Boston Market and McDonald's hamburgers (not at the same time!). But I think Johnny's
cravings are just his body's way of saying "feed me".

I've just been given a list of "Foods to Eat" and "Foods to Avoid" for health reasons.
Guess which list looks the most appetizing. So Chicken Fingers sound great since my Avoid list includes any Fried Foods. Now if I can just get as thin as Johnny.... CarolM |

Johnny just passed 1,500 followers and is now well in the lead among current American skaters for most followers.
Just for fun, here are some of the most followed American skaters, as of 10:30 today (June 20): Johnny Weir: 1,501 followers Adam Rippon: 1,378 Kimmie Meissner: 1,066 Tanith Belbin: 903 Ben Agosto: 628 Rachel Flatt: 557 Caroline Zhang: 369 Emily Hughes: 347 Jeremy Abbott: 296 Denis Petukhov and Melissa Gregory actually have 4,704 followers for their "Olympian Uncut" Twitter page, but I didn't include them because they haven't competed lately. Johnny is channeling his inner fangirl in the latest entry. Apparently, he must have met Lady Gaga in person. |

I just read the posting, 45 minutes with Lady Gaga. Good for Johnny, now if he can only meet Christina!

Do you think Johnny really met Lady Gaga? I thought he was being tongue-in-cheek, meaning he just rehearsed his Poker Face program.

maybe, but I bet he would love to meet her and Christina of course.

I assumed that he did actually get to meet Lady Gaga as I didn't see him meriting a Poker Face rehearsal with any more than two consecutive exclamation
marks. He had five!!!!!
Of course, I could be giving too much significance to punctuation. |

In honor of Johnny's possible delicate condition, and on Father's Day, I made homemade chicken fingers. They were very yummy...I think he would have
liked them!
