Yay Johnny! I don't think it's possible for me to be even more excited for next season now, but I am!
Trust love even if it brings sorrow. Do not close up your heart. Ah no my
friend, your words are dark, I can not understand. The heart is only for giving away with fear and a song, my love. Ah no my friend, your words are dark, I can
not understand them. Pleasure is frail like a dewdrop; while it laughs it dies. But sorrow is strong and abiding. Let sorrowful love wake in your
eyes. --Rabindratha Tagore poem #27

A nice interview just posted on Icenetwork about Johnny's choice of David Wilson and his plans for the upcoming season. He sounds totally invested in
winning and is approaching it in a very mature, flexible and committed way. Yahoo!

Wow, that's really Great news ! " Weir: I got him right off the airplane in Korea, where we were doing Festa on Ice. I said, "David,
I'm really sorry to ask you just as you're getting off the plane, but you're booking up so fast." And he stood up with a big smile and said,
"Yes, of course, I've been waiting for this. We'll have so much fun." "
I love David's idea below, "Johnny, with you, we can do [an IJS-friendly] program, but I want to see the way you move naturally first. I don't want to just put some choreography on you. We can see what you do and turn it into a rocker, twizzle or whatever." " David said he'll have me go out there, do some things and then turn them into something different and difficult " I look forward to seeing his new programs. I liked his past work for last season's Yu Na's SP and also Buttle's FP in 2005-06 , and also Oda's in 06-07. Hope both of the programs will be awesome. Thanks for the info and the link ! I like the photo in it, Johnny looks cool and David looks hilarious. |

I love how grown-up Johnny is sounding in this article. He seems to have realized that there are changes he had to make in order to win the big competitions,
and he is ready to make them.
Go, Johnny!! Pippa

Oh my gosh. I heard about this this morning from a friend and fellow JWe fan, and I literally fell off my chair screaming in joy. This is going to be SO.
GREAT. SO GREAT. I have been loving David Wilson's choreography over the past couple of years, and reading the icenetwork article, I think that's
what I've been missing in Johnny's programs after 2006, the amazing transitions and the coherent look. And it looks like he's going to be
addressing that and oh my gosh, I am so exciteddddddddd.
I am also loving how mature and cohesive Johnny sounds in that article. It sounds like he's looking at what he needs to do to be competitive without losing his originality and personality. I'm so proud of how he's matured and who he's become in the last quadrennium. It sounds funny to say that because he's a good 8 years older than I am :P But still. ...on a little bit of a superstitious note, I was talking to a friend about the upcoming Olympic season. I said that I had 3 wishes, that Johnny would work with David Wilson, that Michelle Kwan would come back, and that they both would win the Olympics. #1 has just come true, and things come in threes. Good sign? I think so

That was a great interview. I agree, Johnny sounds so grown up, focused and willing to listen to others as he goes forward with the Olympic season. I have a
strong feeling he's going to "rock it" big time. GO JOHNNY!!

This is such awesome news!
I, too, am thrilled by this collaboration! Even more so after reading the article. David Wilson is able to create great CoP-friendly programs, but at the same time I like the fact that he doesn't believe in imposing those programs on the skaters. That's an approach I totally support, and I can't wait to see the outcome! Janina.

That's a great photo of Johnny and David. I hope two of them come up with something amazing. Spanish theme SP, similar to Johnny's Feeling good show
program, that sounds intriguing.

The short program music is pretty much decided. It's different for me. I don't know the name of the music; it's in Spanish. David was inspired by my "Feeling Good" [exhibition] program. He said, "You always play it kind of safe -- use classical-type music, show off your line and do pretty things. Let's do something different; after all, you can dance.""Let's do something different." David Wilson, I think I love you. : D Also, LOL about how Wilson has basically been waiting for Johnny to approach him. Sounds like a smart, perceptive guy. Also agreed with everyone who's said they like Johnny's attitude in this interview. So nice to see. --EA Week
