So my question is, which programs (short and free) would you like to see Johnny revamp for CoP and skate to next season? ***Keeper of Johnny's friendly rivalry with Evan***

I love Swan but is almost too iconic at this point. I looked back at some of his programs and I really like Rondo Capriccioso from 2004. I'd like to watch it again and again~ FS: Dr.Zhivago. I has been being fascinated by him since I watched the video of this program (2004 US Nat.) on youtube, IMO, Johnny was perfect at that time, including his physical and mental conditions. The magic of the Swan belongs to the Torino Olympics. Having it (possibly) at Vancouver wouldn't be a great tribute. If he really wants to revisit a program, I'd rather say Rondo Capriccioso, because he was so young back than and the programs wasn't that well recieved from the judges as it should have been, because it was Johnny's breakout year as a dominant senior man. Maybe it would have a different reception now. Or/ and for the FS: Child of Nazareth (a difficult but beautiful program). But IMO he should move on an prepare two brand new programs because he is capable of that.

Even though my top favorite of his competition programs are Rondo and "Amazonic, Hana's Eyes" ( 06 Nationals), the music Dr.Zhivago seems to have better impression to judges and his performances plus choreography at Nationals 2004, and worlds 2004 were perfection and had great success, even though he had almost no career reputation at that time. He looked cute, and the choreography looked fit with his age at that time, so if he arrange the program to more fit with his present age, mature version, it will be interesting. I agree about The Swan and Otonal. I love those programs but I want him to avoid the programs he did last Olympics. and I would like to see new program for SP.

Yes, I realize that he won Nats with Mrvica but it was never skated cleanly and to his full potential and that costume was just divine (the second version). I would rather he leave classics like Rondo and Dr Zhivago alone, because I'd rather they keep the illustriousness they have instead of having the potential to wind up like Otonal- slightly tainted. That said, I'd like to see him try some new programs, but with some tested choreographers and preferrably some royal purple thrown in.

For short program, I would love to see Innocence from the 2003 season. Senior Angel Posts: 86 (05/10/09 3:46 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	I have thought about the possibility that johnny recovered one old his program for the neighbor important season and I thinks that can be "Love is War" because it is complete , the other season has given him a lot of satisfactions.My preferred program is "Child of Nazareth" but I exclude it from its choices because johnny has more times said that didn't feel it in the heart.I love more also "Love is War". My preferred short is difficult to say, they are all really beautiful ones, each of them is particular.It would be great for each to see his more mature interpretation but,i think the short program will be new! Junior Angel Posts: 33 (05/11/09 2:37 AM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Since Johnny talked about closing a circle with reference to the beginning of his career in what should be his last competitive season, I think he was referring to his Dr. Zhivago LP. I think updating this program could bring to something interesting since its original choreography has always been appreciated by almost everybody, of course now it needs some changes under CoP, while other more recent LPs have been more criticized. Johnny's SPs are generally better received and I think he will have no problems in creating a new beautiful SP.

Part of me would LOVE to see him resurrect Child of Nazareth, because I loved that music, and the choreography was so exquisite, but that was such a difficult year for Johnny, and I'm not sure he could skate the program without a lot of mental and emotional baggage. I'd love to see him revisit the program as an exhibition piece, though. For short programs, I agree that Innocence would be really, really interesting. That's one SP he didn't seem to get as much mileage on. I wouldn't want to see him revisit the Swan. That was beautiful, but so iconic, I'd like to see it left in its own time, so to speak. An earlier, less well-known program would be IMO a smarter choice. I'd hate to see the audience and the judges rolling their eyes and thinking, "This again? Is that all he can do?" Still, my overall preference would be for new programs, ones that really showcase Johnny's development, and music that's not encumbered by the weight of the past. He has the advantage this year of extra time to train. He used it when he became junior world champion and the season after that, his first senior season. It would be old enough that people wouldn't remember the original version that well and to see him to do a more mature program with that music could be wonderful. (For the free skate I would love to see him to skate to Carmen. I think he could rock it. And now that I started to think my dream music to him, I would love to see him to do an exhibition to Piazzolla's Oblivion.)
