Is it known that it's for business (choreography?) or for entertainment (gala?)?

We suppose that it`s choreography.

I liked the programs she did for Johnny in the past, although some of her recent programs for other skaters have not been as good, in my opinion. Brian Joubert announced today that he has left his coach, JC Simond, and one of the top possibilities for his new coach/choreographer is Tarasova. Pippa

It is good news if Johnny is going to be in Moscow for choreography. That means a change from last season!

Didn't Johnny say when he was last in Moscow that he wanted one of the dancers from the Russian ballet to work on his choreography?

I'm all for a possible Tarasova choreography. They had so much spark in the past, maybe that's the kind of push and motivation Johnny needs!

I'm actually wary of Tarasova. Does anyone remember what happened last Olympic season with her programs? And then this year, Evan tanked with her programs
(he was getting low levels all over the place). He needed Lori to fix everything.
The woman is a genius, but I think she still doesn't get COP so I hope it's not her. |

I am also wary of Tarasova. She choreographed some beautiful programs under the 6.0 system but her choreography under CoP has not been as successful.
Of course, Johnny always wants to work with Russians, but I had held out some hope that he might just ask David Wilson to do his Olympic year programs. He seemed to get along with Wilson very well at Yu-Na's show last year (I remember reading that they went shopping together), and the programs that Wilson choreographs for Yu-Na are not only beautiful, but huge point-getters under CoP. Johnny told to one girl in LA that he is going to work with the ballet artist in Moscow but it`s a secret with whom.

In fact the Johnny's status in vkontakte.ru is "I'll be in Moscow city from April 27 to May 1. I am so excited! FREEDOM!!!!!!"
In my opinion, Johnny is going to have a good time in Moscow city.
Pippa, I totally agree! The recent programs of Tarasova for other skaters have not been as good.

I disagree. TAT's programs for Mao Asada had been all very beautiful. She is very committed to the details and hard-working, maybe that's why that
partnership is a working one. TAT's choreo is not working for everyone, but certainly worked for Johnny in the past and were all memorable.
I'm looking forward to the ballet collaboration. |

While any time Johnny spends with Tatyana Tarosava would I think be very much all to the good for his choreography, just 4 days certainly doesn't sound
like enough to accomplish much, other than a base touch. Could Johny and Tarosava knock out a full Olympic season's short and long program in so brief a
time slot? As great as they both are, it doesn't seem practicle to me. But never underestimate genius.

Tarasova made two programs for Kevin Reynolds for 10 days last season.
Now if it`ll be only one program 4 days may be enough for base work. Though it`s not enough for all task of cause. More days cost more money. Besides there are holydays in Russia at the begining of May and nobody will work these days.

IMHO, I don't think it's likely that Tarasova will choreograph for Johnny.

Tarasova is certainly better choreographer than Nina Petrenko but still I would like to see Johnny working with someone who is known to be a good COP-choreographer, like Wilson, Nichol, Dickson (sp?), Salome Brunner... Of course they are not Russians but choreographer's nationality or ethnical backround is the last thing he should be thinking right now. It sounds promising that he would be working with ballet artist but what happens after the four days? Who will be perfecting his program(s)? Petrenko and Zmievskaya again? I really hope not. I'm not expecting him to change his style or anything, I just would like to see programs that don't look too much like his old ones. |

I think these 4 days are only the first contact with whoever is gonna choreograph for Johnny and could be used to set up the work wich will be developed later
in the summer maybe.

Johnny has changed his schedule. He has planned to be in Moscow from April 30 to May 5. And "Freedom" again
Johnny is going to relax in Moscow! (Maybe with Tarasove, maybe with Tsiskaridze, maybe with somebody else...) |
