Someone posted on another board that Johnny was asked to compete at the World Team Trophy but turned it down because he is having a fan gathering in Korea.
Anyone know more about this? *note this is only a rumor and not confirmed by Johnny or anyone at usfs*

Really?? That puts a new spin on things. I don't know anything about this...but it might explain why he was so sure he was "done" with this past
seasons programs. I'm kinda angry that he wasn't chosen and don't know how he gets to "turn it down" if he was. If this event can earn
him money and possibly benefit him (standing-wise) I would think he'd need to do it.

I find this hard to believe. Have to hear from a credulous source. Seems too important for Johnny to turn this down.

If he were to have turned it down, he wouldn't be allowed to do any other shows and exhibition from now until the Trophy based on the ISU rules for the
competition. I can't see him turning this huge opportunity down if it would mean that he couldn't do any of the other shows he has scheduled for the
spring.
USFS is continuing to lose my support more and more every day. There is absolutely no excuse for not inviting the second highest ranked US skater to a competition that is still pretty important. ISU is trying to make this a serious competition, so the best skaters should be invited. Nothing USFS does makes sense any more, and I'm sick of Johnny always getting the short end of the stick. I'm glad I'm not the only one spitting nails. But there's got to be more to this...than Johnny was not chosen. Why? He didn't go to worlds and
we all know why...but I had the idea that it was 1, 2, 3--that's it. The criteria for this event is different.
Shall I write to USFSA and ask why he's not on the team? Sometimes they reply. We help support this organization and they are accountable for their decisions. I just want to know.

Pippa I agree with you. I was there and there did not seem to be an injury. I was pretty surprised to hear about the injury the next day.

I wrote to USFSA. Asked them rather straightforwardly and I do expect to get a response of some kind. I'll let everyone know.
Johnny is paying dearly for his 5th place. I guess Jeremy's 11th--not so much.

I think we've had enough speculation and anger. I'll close this thread temporarily and let Joanne re-open it if and when she gets a reply from USFS.
