I was thankful that I had no problem convincing my friend, Reggie, who was visiting me from Chicago, to come to the show with me. Thursday morning my mom and I got on our plane to Portland at 7:00 AM and arrived in Portland at 10:00AM. Our hotel check in wasnt until noon, but we figured that we should go to the hotel (which was the Courtyard by Marriot) to see if they had a room ready. we got to the arena at about 4.30 or 5pm. we basically hung around the main area between the rink and the restaurant, and jesi said hello to tanith and spoke to ben briefly as well, got pictures and such. there was at one point a woman that i thought was patti [weir], but i guess someone said later on that she was held up at the hotel. i was too nervous at that point to approach anyone, anyways.

I didnft expect at all that Johnny would come to NHK Trophy before the assignments got released, so Ifd been so excited but also nervous, because I was afraid he might withdraw as NHK is a non-scoring event and he got injury in September. So I felt as if I was dreaming when I saw Johnny warming-up on Saturday.
